FAQs

Here are the answers to some of your frequently asked questions.

  • Is UpCredential an accredited CPD Provider?

Yes, we are accredited by the Professional Regulatory Board of Accountancy as a CPD Provider, with Accreditation No. 2024-171.

  • What are your available CPD Programs?

We currently offer Video-on-Demand (VOD) CPD Programs under Self-Directed Learning (SDL) modality - a form of CPD recognized and processed by the PRC. These SDL programs may be used by ALL professionals (E.g. teachers, social workers, engineers) as long as they are relevant to their professions. We will also be offering accredited webinars and video-on-demand for CPAs - within the coming months of 2025.

  • What is "Video-on-Demand"?

Video-on-Demand is a type of Online Learning recognized by the PRC, wherein participants can access the prerecorded training (E.g. video lectures) ANYTIME, 24/7 by logging into our website, via the internet. You can play, pause and replay UpCredential training, the same way you can do so with a Netflix program. Just create your account at our website and sign in to access your training.

  • What is Self-Directed Learning?

Self-Directed Learning (SDL) pertains to activities that a professional undertakes for his professional development such as non-degree courses, international seminars, or online training. SDL Certificates of Attendance, along with other requirements are submitted by the professional to the PRC for CPD credits. Recent PRC issuances have now made SDL a viable, efficient, and economical CPD option for professionals.

  • What are the PRC's requirements for processing SDL CPD credits?

You need to submit the (1) Certificate of Attendance, (2) Program of Activities, and (3) Narrative Report on Learnings. Submit all these, together with the accomplished PRC application form for SDL, by uploading to the PRC's online system (CPDAS). The PRC charges a flat processing fee of P500 per application form. To save on fees, we recommend that you collate all your training certificates, list them down in one application form, and process them one time.

  • Will UpCredential provide me with these PRC requirements?

Definitely yes! UpCredential will provide you with the Certificate of Attendance and Program of Activities the same day that you complete the training. For the Narrative Report, it must be unique and personal to you, but you can refer to the Learning Objectives and Outcomes we provide for our courses, for guidance as you prepare it.

  • How do I submit PRC requirements for CPD?

All processing of CPD credits by the PRC is now done online. So, you need to submit the PRC's CPD requirements via the PRC's online system - known as the Continuing Professional Development Accreditation System (CPDAS). Feel free to contact us to learn more about how to use the CPDAS.

  • How long is the processing of SDL transactions?

After you submit the complete requirements and pay the processing fee, it takes around fifteen (15) days processing time. Under PRC Resolution 2022-1553, "New Prescriptive Periods for CPD Transactions": (1) PRC frontliners will check your submitted applications and forward it to the CPD Council within three (3) working days, and (2) the CPD Council will process the application within ten (10) working days.

  • How much does it cost.

Our price per SDL module is P200. One module consists of 1.5 Credit Hours.

More FAQs about CPD requirements:

  • How many CPD units do I need to renew my PRC license?

All professionals currently need 15 CPD units to renew their PRC license. This is provided under PRC Resolution 2019-1146 which provides "Transition Period" rules for the PRC. Although CPAs are required 120 CPD units under the CPD Law, the PRC has exercised "Maximum Flexibility" in the implementation of CPD, requiring only 15 CPD units for CPA license renewal.

You will still need 120 CPD units to apply for BoA Accreditation as a CPA in Public Practice or in Education.

For CPAs accumulating 120 CPD Units for BOA Accreditation, you can use up to 36 CPD Units from SDL.

  • How many units of SDL can be used to complete the 15 CPD units required for PRC ID Renewal?

  • What is the compliance period for CPD?

You need to complete the 15 units for license renewal (or 120 units for CPA practitioner accreditation) every three (3) years.
